Dogs!!!

Dogs, dogs and more dogs...
So every day that we have run here we have dealt with dogs.  One set of dogs has gotten more and more aggressive every time we have gone past their place.  Today (my long run day) they finally got brave enough to be stupid.  Going past there today on the way out one of them decided to try to bite me... He didn't manage to break the skin, just scratched the skin.  Jim gave him a swift kick in the face.
There is no way to come back to the house without passing them again, so we picked up rocks right before we got close to their house.  When they attacked again Jim chucked rocks at them.
I had planned on going for a two mile easy tomorrow but I am thinking I don't want to run past them again tomorrow.
Regardless stats for today's run... 4.6 miles in 55 min.  Pretty good run, I got a stitch in my side about mile 2 and then at about 4.3 miles my toes started burning... I'm not sure what that's about but it was still a good run

Who are you?  For those of you who saw the video of me speaking last weekend, this is going to be a bit of a repeat. Yes, I did it, I actually stood up in front of a crowd and spoke. Nursing School Break...

and I am loving it.  Doing decent on my daily bible reading, not perfect but consistent. Deep cleaned the living room today, all those nooks and crannies and dusting no one else bothers to do.  Decorated the outside railing in front of the house, set up an online calender thing. Now for the crazy, insane part.... I have decided to register for the Hospital Hill Half Marathon in Kansas City in June.  Ever since I had my surgery I have wanted to start running and ultimately run a marathon.  Started training for a 5k about a week before nursing school started.  That was a mistake, no time to set a routine before my schedule went crazy.... Decided since I have the next 6 weeks off school (well nursing school anyway) I have time to establish a habit of running... Tied my shoes on today... and while it was a pathetic run for anyone who runs I'm proud of myself anyway.  Went out for about 15 min total with 30/30 intervals as my plan.  I made it for about 10 min at 30/30 intervals

Where we are now.... and where are we going

I am going to try and do better about this whole blogging thing. We are currently in Washington state, back at Fort Lewis (or JBLM) as it's called now. We have been here for a little over a year. The oldest is off at college (and some days are better than others for her). The middle kid has started to study for her AP testing and is excited and scared for Junior year next year. Our little baby, isn't so little anymore.... She is scared about next year and starting high school. She has also continue to grow her artistic talents and is turning into quite the painter..... Jim, well he has decided to retire from the Army.... That's right, this Crazy Army Life is approaching retirement. The thought of being out and on our own is a little intimidating.... Where do we go now? Most people go home... but where is home? My family is scattered to the winds... Jim's are all in Missouri. Missouri is where we consider home, but.... it's a limited practice state for me. I have
